EXPERIENCE 1
YOUNG CIVIC LEADERS
“IF YOU DECIDE TO LEAVE THE WORLD AS IT IS, IT SHOULD ONLY BE BECAUSE YOU WANT IT THAT WAY”
WHAT WE DO
The Young Civic Leaders program is designed to mold young adults who want to participate in civic leadership through personal and profesional development, knowledge of key problems in society, and the formation of civic empowerment and social innovation.
The Foundation trains the youth to become leaders by giving them resources to understand system inequalities and how to bring people together to make change. They want to make community leaders, not just people knowledgeable about political events.
The Young Civic Leaders program offers a variety of courses over a two-semester period to promote critical thinking including anthropology, philosophy, international relations. The program teaches about the different sectors of civic participation, from foundations to lobbyists and politicians. Students observe how professionals intervene to improve situations and eradicate problems.
The program looks for young professionals (between 23 and 30 years old) who desire to have a social impact through their job and actions. We believe that the youth can make the change.

The program is geared towards youth involvement, and focuses in on four main points: social innovation, education, volunteer work, and development.
They look to turn intentions into active participation in social activities, encourage social sensitivity, promote social development, and incentivize solidarity.
Living for Other has been working for infancy and youth for 31 years, since 1993, winning a national youth award from the Ministry of Health, Social Services and Equality.
